BRITISH COLUMBIA LOOKOUTS
WESLEY MOUNTAIN
October 13, 1949: "Two smart new lookout stations are headquarters for forest rangers guarding timber lands in the Parksville district.
Both buildings were prefabricated in Vancouver, and were erected during the summer.
Summer crews from the British Columbia Forest Service station here erected the lookout on Mount Wesley, near Horne Lake. The 16-foot-square, one-and-a-half-story cabin rests on a 400-gallon water tank.
Sections of the buildings were packed over mountain trails by the crews. A mile-long trail was cut out of the woods on Wesley Mountain to complete the Horne Lake station." (The Daily Colonist)
