BRITISH COLUMBIA LOOKOUTS
TABOR MOUNTAIN
.
August 9, 1961: "Vic Hunter, along with his wife, Bernice, and dog, Sandy Bear, were nearly trapped by the Grove Fire when it roared over the mountain on the weekend.
The cabin and woodshed were completely destroyed and the tower badly damaged.
The lookout was still standing at last report but only on three legs. Vic had cleared an area 200 yards around the tower and this is what kept it from being completely destroyed." (The Citizen)
