1956: "An 80' galvanized lookout tower with glass enclosed cabin and living quarters at the tower site for the observer was built on Brighton Mountain in Carleton County as the latest addition to the lookout tower system in the Province. Communication to this lookout station is supplied through VHF radio, it being considered unnecessary to build a long telephone line to this site. Brighton Tower is therefore in direct communication by radio with Fredericton Ranger Office and Skiff Lake Lookout Station." + "Two miles of new road and three miles of existing road were improved leading to this tower site in Ranger District 4-1."
