October 25, 1913: "The telephone system outlined at the beginning of the season was an ambitious one, comprising nearly 600 miles of line. Construction work on more than half the entire programme has been begun, and six of the lines, representing 67 miles of line, are already in working order. One of these lines extend from Vernon to B. X. Mountain Lookout, 19 miles." (The Daily Colonist)
1913: "Two lookout stations were established on the east side of the Okanogan, and during the past season were connected to the commercial centres by twenty-four miles of telephone lines built by the Forest Branch. One was established on B.X. Mountain, eighteen miles out of Vernon, on the watershed of the Vernon City, Armstrong City, and Coldstream Municipal domestic supply systems, and overlooking the White Valley irrigation reservoir and watershed." 1923: $98.00 was spent on telephone line improvement at B.X. Mountain on the Vernon District. (Annual Report of the British Columbia Forest Service - 1923)
1924: The existing lookout on B.X. Mountain was substantially improved. (Annual Report of the British Columbia Forest Service - 1924)
1925: The Southern Interior District spent the sum of $28.00 on maintenance of the lookout. An additional $30.00 was used to maintain the telephone line. (Report of the Forest Branch, Department of Lands)
1926: The old lookout on B.X. Mountain was replaced with a new standard structure at a cost of $1,719.00. (Annual Report of the British Columbia Forest Service - 1926)
