1930: A temporary lookout site was established at Bainbridge Mountain near Alberni. A total of $737.00 was spent on the improvements. (Annual Report of the British Columbia Forest Service - 1930)
September 9, 1937: "The British Columbia forest service has installed radio as their latest aid to scientific fire fighting. The results have been very favorable and officers of the service confidently assert that the radio will prove much more satisfactory than the telephone from a communication standpoint. They have the advantage of being very inexpensive to operate and install." (The Prince George Citizen)
