NEW BRUNSWICK LOOKOUTS
LITTLE BALD MOUNTAIN
Northumberland County
1921: "This lookout was in operation during the 1921 season. Being almost in the centre of the province, this tower was in a less hazardous area, and only a few fires were reported within the vision of the tower. One fire within ten miles of the tower was detected and reported and extinguished before assuming large proportions which otherwise would probably not have been detected until after doing considerable damage. A few fires nearer the settlements and some forty to fifty miles away were detected first from this lookout. A lookout cabin built mainly of stone and logs was constructed on this mountain by the lookout man during the fire season."
