BRITISH COLUMBIA LOOKOUTS
MORRISSEY MOUNTAIN
Kootenay - Boundary
June 20, 1939: Details of projects in the government summer forest programme, which will engage 2295 men, were announced today. In the Nelson district ten men will work on the Morrisssey lookout. (The Province)
December 25, 1942: "The same gentlemen have recently constructed a water tramway on Morrissey Mountain Lookout. With a tin pail, some telephone wire, a barn door hanger and a little labor, the Lookoutman is now able to supply himself with water from the spring 725 feet down the mountainside by merely pulling the pail up the tramway. The cost of this improvement, we are assured, totaled $8.00." (Forest Branch News Letter)
November 1949: "Morrissey Lookout tower and cabin built in 1939. Tower is 50-feet high. Cabin 14' x 16' with 6' roof projection. Cost $1150." (Forest Service Newsletter)
