May 7, 1931: "With the first fire protection patrol made, the war against the menace that annually threatens the forest resources of Saskatchewan is on. Construction work on the four radio-equipped lookout towers at Thunder Mountain, Fishing Lakes, Booman and Waskesieu is now underway and radio equipment for the stations has been purchased." 1951: "The old wooden tower at Thunder Mountain, an important primary location, was torn down and a new steel tower erected." (Department of Natural resources Annual Report, 1951-52)
