1941: A new Observer's cabin was erected using mostly warden labor at Chipman Lookout Station. Fraser Companies, Ltd. cooperated by bearing part of the cost. (105th Annual report of the Department of Lands and Mines)
1950: "New reinforcing rods were placed on Chipman Lookout Tower as the old rods, which were of twisted galvanized wire, needed replacement. Chipman Tower is the oldest tower in the district, but with the above repairs is now in excellent condition." (114th Annual Report of the Department of Lands and Mines)
1958: "The cupola cabin of the Chipman Lookout Tower in Ranger District 3-8 was repaired--a new floor was laid and the cupola covered with siding." (122nd Annual report of the Department of Lands and Mines, year ending 3/31/1959)
