September 18, 1958: "Superintendent McGregor and Ranger Kirkpatrick of Slave Lake went to Red Earth on Tuesday to inspect the tower site there and look over the new road. Ranger Nichols accompanied them from here." & "Gib Rogney has finished the forestry road to Red Earth road. He also cleared the site for a new tower at Red Earth." (Peace River Record Gazette)
September 25, 1958: "Building materials for the new fire tower at Red Earth are beginning to move through the district over the recently completed forestry road. Present plans call for tower and buildings to be completed before winter." (Peace River Record Gazette)
