1937: "In Northumberland County part of the telephone line from Doaktown to Doaktown Lookout Station was rebuilt, being changed to a more satisfactory location, warden labour being used where possible." (77th Annual report of the Department of Lands and Mines)
1948: "Six miles of metallic circuit telephone line on poles was erected connecting Doaktown tower, via the New Betts Mills Brook Settlement Road and the Grand Lake Road, to Doaktown exchange. This will give this tower good telephone service in future. The old line, which was badly in need of repair, was dismantled." (112th Annual Report of the Department of Lands and Mines)
