YUKON LOOKOUTS
MURRAY MOUNTAIN
Carmacks
April 6, 1964: "A look-out tower is to be constructed by the Forestry Department on Murray Mountain, approximately 10 miles northwest of Carmacks.
Chuck Ford landed the Forestry helicopter in Carmacks last week and Harold Patterson, Danny Noland, Bobby Joe, and John Doyle transported the prefabricated building to the Carmacks Air Strip. Needless to say, it was a queer looking helicopter that left Carmacks March 25 with panels flapping and dangling in the air. However, the prefabricated building arrived safely and is now awaiting to be assembled. The tower will be completed for the summer months and a person employed to watch for fires from there.
The tower will be two storey building. The employees will have his living quarters on the second floor." (Whitehorse Daily Star)
