April 28, 1965: “A new lookout station will be manned during peak danger periods in the coming forest season near the south tip of the Willow River working circle.
Harley Anderson, woods manager for Netherlands Overseas Mills Ltd,. Told delegates to the forest fire control course the post on top of Teapot Mountain, would be manned by a B.C. Forest Service spotter at the expense of Netherlands and other operators in the Willow River Forestry Association.
The Forest Service has a lookout at George Creek Mountain, but this does not cover the entire area of the working circle, Mr. Anderson said
The new station will be manned for detection of fires during periods of high risk, Mr. Anderson said. He also announced that a weather station is being considered for the same area to better assess the risk in the Teapot are, where lightning storms are frequent.” (Prince George Citizen)
