June 20, 1939: Details of projects in the government summer forest programme, which will engage 2295 men, were announced today. In the Prince Rupert district, twelve men will work on protection trails and build a lookout on Parrott Mountain. (The Province)
October 20, 1944: "The Newsletter received a story from Lookoutman F.W. Lindsay, Parrott Mountain, near Burns Lake, which is too long to quote but which certainly further substantiates the fact that either our lookoutmen, due to their vocation, become eloquent or else men of suppressed literary ability turn to lookouts for work which will permit their expressing themselves."
