1947: "A new metallic circuit telephone line on poles. twelves miles in length, was built from Boisetown to Hayesville in co-operation with the Miramichi Lumber Company Limited on a fifty-fifty basis to give better communications to Todd Mountain Lookout Station, on the freehold lands of Miramichi Lumber Company Limited.
The line will be completed next year to Todd Mountain Lookout Station in York County. where a new 80 ft. steel lookout tower was erected this year by Miramichi Lumber Company Limited, replacing an old wooden tower erected over twenty-five years ago. The tower overlooks large areas of Crown lands in York and Northumberland Counties." (111th Annual Report of the Department of Lands and Mines)

1948: "The Miramichi Lumber Company, Ltd., erected an 80 ft. galvanized steel lookout tower on Todd Mountain replacing an old wooden tower. This was reported in our last report but although the tower was purchased and delivered to the site in 1947 it was not erected until this summer." 1950: "Todd Mountain Lookout Station was fitted with a new alidade and tower table so as to give 100% visibility all around the compass. A new map, scale 1 inch to 1 mile, was made up for this lookout station and installed. New, modern, telephones were installed at this lookout station, bringing it up to the standard of other lookout stations in the province." (114th Annual Report of the Department of Lands and Mines)
