TRACEY BROOK PORTAGE

1936: "A fifty-foot wooden tower was erected on Lot 2B, Range 6 on the Tracey Brook Portage, north of Kedgwick Settlement, Restigouche County. chiefly with warden labor. This secondary tower is known as Tracey Portage Tower and is reached by telephone over the Tracey Brook grounded circuit telephone line of the New Brunswick International Paper Company. This Company loaned one of their Senior Wardens to take charge of construction of this project which will be used during hazardous periods when visibility is reduced to a few miles. It will co-operate with St. Quentin and Robinson Towers in the dections of fires in or near settlement areas." (Department of Lands and Mines, Annual Report)
