July 27, 1979: “Offers: Plainly marked on the envelope 'Offer on P.T. No. 84' will be received by the undersigned up to 2:00 p.m., August 10, 1979 to purchase for the purpose of removal or demolition the following, located 'as is and where is' 2km South of Wonowan, on the Alaska Highway:
Blueberry Lookout and Tower The plywood lookout building is 8 ft. x 8 ft. and located at the top of the tower. The tower is 60 ft. high and has pole legs with bolted 4 in. by 6 in. bracing. There is also a 3 ft. x 8 ft. landing. The guy wires are 3/8 in. steel cable with galvanized turn-buckle tighteners.”
The removal is to be completed within 30 days after acceptance of the bid and the site is to be left in a tidy condition. (Prince George Citizen)
