1940's: The lookout was established as a pole tower with an open observation platform.
1949: A pre-fabricated wood tower with a standard 14 x 14 gable roofed cab constructed. Packhorses were the means of transporting materials to the lookout site.
1959: The lookout became accessible by automobiles when an access road was completed.
1965: The current 18-foot concrete block tower replaced the earlier wooden tower.
1982: The end of the lookouts use as a regular fire detection point.
2012: Restoration work was performed on the lookout structure. The lookout is currently fitted out as an interpretive display and is maintained as a recreational destination.
