1964: "A new observation tower was planned and partly erected during the latter part of the season near Sinclair Lake in the central part of the Province. The final location of this tower was determined by the correlation of test visibilty maps with the visibility plan of the existing tower network." 1965: "A new observation tower at Sinclair lake in the central part of the Province was completed and will be in regular operation next season." (129th Annual Report of the Department of Lands and Mines, year ending 3/31/1966)
1969: "Sinclair Lake, Tomahawk and Big Bald Mountain towers were not manned during the fire season and an aircraft stationed at Dunphy airstrip was responsible for the detection of fires in the area formerly covered by these towers.."
