MONITOBA LOOKOUTS
GYPSUMVILLE
Eastern Forest District
1947: A steel tower was erected. (Manitoba Department of Mines and Natural Resources Annual Report)
August 9, 1948: "An 80-foot steel fire lookout tower is being erected at Gypsumville under supervision of Forest Ranger Emil Campbell. This will afford an excellent view of the surrounding country and aid in fire control. Perhaps the watchman will keep us posted on what neighbors in towns to the south are doing!
