BEEHIVE MOUNTAIN
October 31, 1941: "A lookout, which has been established, is on the Beehive Mountain at Lake Louise. Most of the work getting the material necessary for this building was packed up by pack horse, but the long timbers were carried up by two men teams. Fifteen tons of material were used for this building. It is not on trestles, but has a concrete wall and is built on the rock. When the survey was made it was found that in this location it was not necessary to build for more height as there was no tree line to surmount, so this accounts for the different type of building used at the Beehive."
